I bought and service my Jeep at Riverfront Chrysler Jeep Dodge in North Aurora and my opinion of their service department is becoming increasingly negative.

I am curious to know if any other LOST Illinois members have had any experiences with Riverfront they would be willing to share. I would also be interested to hear if anyone is especially pleased with any other Chrysler service departments in the Chicagoland area.

Thanks,

Richard

Although this doesn't help you much - I have no experience with River Front's service department however I have two Jeep dealerships near me (Larry Roesch in Elmhurst and DuPage Jeep in Wheaton) where every time I've gone to either of their parts departments looking for a OEM part, they generally end up telling me; "sorry we don't have it, but River Front does." So needless to say I think RF's parts department is great.

With that said, if you're not needing warranty dealership work, there is a Tuffy Auto Center on North Aurora road just east of Eola road (on the northside of the street) that has both a honest owner, as well as a mechanic who grew up in a Jeep / 4x4 shop (once located in Lombard on Rt 38) who really knows his stuff.

Down & Dirty Off Road Season Kickoff Meet & Greet March 13th, 2010.

Come one and all and join DDO for our second annual Season Kickoff Meet & Greet Saturday, March 13. We’ll be christening our new season with food, drinks and good company as we wave goodbye to winter and welcome spring. The event will feature food & drink package, raffle, FREE DDO decals and new member initiation. We’ll also be discussing the 2010 events and our theme for the year “Education & Safety.” Be sure not to miss this event and bring all your friends and family!
Where: Pap’s Ultimate Bar & Grill, 1904 S. Elmhurst Rd., Mount Prospect, IL
When: Saturday, March 13, 5-8pm (food & drink package starts at 6pm)

Cost: non members = 21+ $15, under 21 $10, under 11 $5

Please RSVP by March 8 - by emailing info@ddoffroad.com

Here's a link to the club's home page and complete information; http://ddoffroad.com/

Okay, just so there is no confusion, this is a party open to anyone and you are not required (or will be pressured) to join the club. This is simply a chance to meet more new people in the area who enjoy wheelin' off road as much as you do.

I will add that I've been told the by the club that they would love to see KJ & KK owner's wheel with the club. Down & Dirty is a active off-road club that invites any type of 4x4 owner who wants to wheel off road. They are not a show & shine type of club. This year the club will be having "Newbie Runs" for anyone who would like to learn off road techniques as well as safety. And also this year the club wants everyone to know they're not just about hard core or high technical trails only. There will be planned events this year which will have 4x4's grouped into different catagories of technical trail experience and or willingness on each persons preference. There will be trail leaders for each group / trail.

Anyway, if any of you want to meet people that appreciate you and your Liberty (or any capable 4x4 regardless of make or model), consider coming to the kick-off party and meet them. Hope to see some of you there.

:/ I didn't know it was all that bad, thought it was a silly Facebook comment...but I remember the skid plate story, I mean even Midas didn't even bother to complain about my skids in the way, if they took it off, they sure did put it to the right torque specs :D Hope the steam blows off on the drive to the M&G and we get a good story there too :D

Geez, Jayme. It sounds like you don't have good luck with dealerships either. Sorry to hear it. I am beginning to believe that all dealerships are crooks. I have mechanics that I trust, but they are old school and don't have ASE Certification, so I am stuck with my dealership's incompetent service department for all my warranty issues.

Jayme, I'm steamed you went back there. Regardless of their BS oil change deal when you bought the KJ from them.

But seriously, (for starters) the Sales Manager isn't going to do squat. You need to confront the General Manager and then the Owner. If you do, go off on them and let them know exactly what a bunch of friggin' idiots they have in the service department!
:furious:

I have every intention of doing just that come Monday morning... couldn't get any farther than the service manager today, so we'll see what more we can do the beginning of the week. Will post the outcome, of course.

so how did this end up Jayme?

You got 'roids? :ROTFL:

Mine is gone too. Sold it to my son-in-law & oldest daughter.

Speaking of selling things, Jayme remember that tent I brought up to Nicolet? I recently unloaded it on ebay.
