hahaha .. Ain't that the truth?

I've got a decent digital video cam, takes really cruddy pictures but takes great video, tried several times to strap it to the dash for time-lapse while on trips etc.. with no luck.. i've got a mini tripod for it so it has the thread socket under the bottom.. maybe i should make a plate with a slip nut or something to screw it to that will secure to the dash

look into a gorillapod made by joby? i think. it did a good job holding up to my roof basket last night when we just messed with the mounting on it. i will most likely wrap the flip video in some plastic wrap for mud and stuff so it does not get damaged. i hope nobody makes fun of me with the mini tripod thing, its pink haha

got the gauge pod. looks great. but i dont know if it screws over the original pillar with out the handle on or if you drill into the metal behind it. because the screws i got are so short they would never make it to the metal

it doesn't replace the pillar? Guess I always assumed it did, I'd imagine getting the screws into the handle zerts would be a friggin PITA with the stock pillar still on

has Zack (the feller from NC) put his on yet? If so i'm sure he's got some pointers

Like i said, i kinda always figured it /replaced/ that pillar - for a product with that low of a cost, fitment over an existing moulding would be a PITA, with it removed all it has to do is have access to the stock zerts for the handle

figure for 50 bucks that they didn't take a "casting" of the stock pillar, took / trimmed a generic pillar mould and made sure holes lined up?

im getting the same thing with posting as well

The gauge holder is made cover the trim piece with the handle removed. The
handle cannot be attached.

Remove the handle and place the gauge holder over the trim piece. Mark
where the holes are on the trim piece and drill pilot holes for the screws.

Some people remove the trim piece completely and attach the gauge holder
directly to the a-pillar.

Best regards,

well. the screws they supplied me with are too short to even make it through the original molding. and i have to go out and buy washers to re mount the original a pillar piece because the grab handle has to come off...so far, this looks like the just made it to fit and didnt think otherwise. if anyone is good with making fiberglass i highly recommend making a molding and selling them properly, you'll enjoy the pocket cash

Helped a couple of people this morning, was going to pull a kia out but his rear tow ataching point was too small for my strap and the D ring that I have, so I guess I need to get a hook too.

Had a blast driving around, needed to use 4 low for a bit this morning but after that was fine. had no problems going down an unplowed road with some snow piles over my hood that I just blasted right through. I was having incredibly way too much fun and can only think how much trouble I could get myself in with a locker.
