Not that I am in the Il group but from past experience it is better to have people vote ( or poll them ) than to just say we are the only ones who have shown interest and we are going to run it.

Someday someone may come back and say we never had any say in how everyone was picked

just my nickel

they may have nickels over there in ohioland, but here in illinois its the penny or nothin!

as jayme stated, the option was open for people to toss their names into the ring... but a poll would be prob be the betterer thing to do...

I think- lets let the roll call for illinois go for a few more weeks, maybe till the april meeting, during this time lets ask who wants what positions (and what are the positions), I think three would be good as a tie breaker in argumentive situations. Then put up a ballot, these people on the ballot should try to be present at the april meeting, so people can meet them and get to know them, if they so wish. Then run the elections/voting for two weeks after the april meet.

I personally want to shoot myself in the foot and place myself in the hat for marketing

should we close the leadership discussion thread? or place a note in it to look here for more info?

There's been ample time for those that wanted to play to have their say and get their name tossed into the hat - there's no reason to drag this out into mid/late April.

If you haven't made it clear you're interested in doing something, now's the time to speak up.

That being said, I'll review posts again, gather names, and post two polls tomorrow.

One will be for 'President,' the second for 'VP' ( media/PR ). Further clarifications on how the polling will go down will be posted tomorrow evening.

Post them anyway, I would hope nothing is final.

After giving people a week to think about leadership in IL-LOST, we’ve got 4 people out of 15 who are interested. We’ve only had feedback from six people on what they want to see happen with this “new” club. I had been hoping that we’d have more interest.
I know those of us who have made comments are anxious to get things rolling. Maybe we need to start out with an interim leadership to get things moving. We need to decide on positions (which it seems callaway has) and maybe a short list of duties for those positions. Maybe that will coax a few more out of the woodwork, I don’t know. When (and if) we expand the membership, we can do something more permanent as far as “governing body”.
As for "things lying in limbo" I don't think they are. We are doing things by scheduling meetings, getting a live calendar of events posted and getting an information packet together (I’ve got 10 copies of the JPFreek spread, for now).

so your telling me you are giving 10 days for people to realize illinois is a seperate thread, and a roll call and now a board is created in only 5 days ...I will support and help you in any way i can, but i do not step on due process or what i think it should be...I am now hesitant on being a member of this board, I think this process is a bit quick and will miss a few opinions. I feel we are not in limbo, we are moving forward, we just have to plan our future with good griping tires... If a majority of the 15 current roll called members agree to this method of a two seat board I will support it with all my might

I think this is being overdone. nothing is set in stone. If you guys elect 2 people to be P and VP and they aren't getting the job done or they need more help, things can and will change. I say get the ball rolling, put up the polls, elect a couple to start and go from there. Anyone that really has a significant interest about the goings on on here has made it here to post up info or sign the roll call. Those that signed the roll call but didn't voice their opinion about leadership are probably happy to sit back and let things take shape. If you wait for everyone to voice an opinion, you'll never get anywhere. Get it going and rework it accordingly. Just my 2 cents.

it is all good, i didnt notice the time frame in the original thread,....my sincere appologies i posted in there but completely missed the timeframe discussed and failed to make my coments at the approriate time...as i mentioned before i will support you with all my might, and will do so only at the committee level i mentioned earlier in the other thread, thus not stepping on anyone... I am kewl... :)

I too think this is being overdone.

There are 15 members on the roll call. Obviously those 15 have a clue to what's happening. Post the poll.

By the way, to everyone and anyone, don't ever hold back your thoughts or opinions on something of interest.
