I was out in Sycamore for a car show and saw a vendor who had a few really cool cub's bashing t-shirts. My favorite was the backside of a large hand giving the finger with the SOX World Series Championship Ring and it said; "This one's for you Cubs fan!" I almost bought it.

No. Downtown Sycamore. They closed the downtown area at 2:00 am Sunday morning. I and a friend from Sycamore (along with other's from his car club - they're hardcore rat rod style gearheads) had our cars parked in front of the court house at 4:00 am, then went back to his place a grabbed a few hours sleep before we went back for the day. Last count I heard at about 11:00 am, there were 900 entries in the show. It's a annual event and one of the largest in the Chicago (northern, IL) region. The show has a little bit of everything, from local food vendors and major chain restaurants like Giordano's and Culvers who all bring in trailer catering kitchens, to major stores like Lowes & Blaine's Farm & Fleet to swap meet type vendors selling everything from crap to cool gearhead stuff. Several charity organizations also attend and raffle stuff. One was raffling a new Chevy 383 stroker crate engine, one was raffling a new Chevy Silverado 4x4 pickup and one was raffling a new Chevy Camaro RS. Cars are parked all along the streets as well as single file down the center of Rt 64. The is a mobile DJ from the area who has 6 square blocks wired for PA and music. If you're coming into town on Rt 64 from the east, you can't miss the American Flag and POW/MIA flag flying high atop a 200' ft crane. One really needs to experience this event to fully understand how big it is and everything that goes on all day long.

Army KJ?

Last year was HELL. It was like 96 F degrees

This year it was a nice 79 F. I saw a '42 Willy's and a Scrambler (forget what year it was?) that were both cherry. Also saw a '50 (if I remember correctly) Willy's military pickup that was too cool. That was about it for anything close to, or Jeep related.

I missed that? Then again, last year I wouldn't have given a KJ a second look. Army recruiter or not.

Mark Buehrle just set another MLB record tonight. The previous record for consecutive outs was 41. He is now at 43, and obviously pitching a no-hitter against the Twinkies in the 6th inning.

If you're not watching this game, you should be.

Well the record stands at 45. And the no-hitter is gone. But I was impressed with the Twinkies fans who gave Buehrle 2 standing ovations.

But the Sox are beating themselves now, so you can turn the channel.

I couldn't find a general thread regarding baseball so I will post here --

I'm watching the AL Division Series between the Tigers & Twins - and have to admit this is one of the best games I've seen in a long time.
