| Post subject: | Liberty maintenance. |
Noob here. So I'm from Morton grove/Niles/Chicago area and was wondering where you take your Liberty for service. The only thing I know about cars (jeeps for that matter) is how to drive them. The shop where I bought my Liberty from is no longer and was looking for a good trustfull place to go. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm due for a 60,000 mile service. |

Most of our maintenance/mods are performed in the driveway. Exception being the Lifetime Oil Changes we bought when we purchased the Jeep. Is your Jeep still under the factory maintenance plan and you're looking for a good Jeep dealer or will this be totally out of pocket and you're looking for a cheap, yet honest shop? The fluids and plugs aren't hard to do. If you would like to learn to do them yourself, we can show you at the next Illinois Lost Gathering on Aug 22. http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?sr ... ca/Chicago If you are more interested in having someone else do the work for you. Plus not having the right tools or the time affects the situation. But I'm interested in the Lost gathering. Thanks... |

We've been bringing our cars to Axtmann Automotive for years. They're in Jefferson Park - maybe 10 minutes from where I am and they're great honest guys. The owner builds race cars in the shop and always gets a kick when the KJ comes in. Check out the Illinois LOST Map - couple of shops marked on there as well. |

Cannot help you with shops in your area but learning basic maintenance regarding the KJ is easy. And as for tools, Harbor Freight is a cheap place to buy decent basic tools. So if you should attend a local LOST meet & greet, you'll learn new stuff, meet new people who also own Liberty's, and have a good time. |

We'll have all the tools at the next gathering, fluids and plugs can be obtained beforehand or from a nearby auto parts store. |
