Hey Trooper, Where did you do Ohio Air Guard duty? I was at Rickenbacker with the KC-135E then R Refuelers from 1990-1994. That includes the merge of the Fighter Wing. I was in the Avionics shop (Com/Nav).

I did my Guard drills at Springfield-Beckley MAP just south of Springfield Ohio, and 15 minutes north of Cedarville (where I went to College). I was in the 269th CBCS there from 1991 to 1997.

We did our two week exercises in Indiana and Michigan. I got to drive a Hummer through downtown Detroit coming back from one trip. 4 wheel indy suspension and pot holes on the Interstate made for a "fun" ride! Keeping up with the convoy and keeping in my lane was quite a challenge!

We should call you Gramps Jr. I am guessing you are in your 60's. Not even close to our most seasoned member.

My dad was in the Navy in the 60's. Both ships he served on were in the Pacific. Cargo ships. I was on a Nuke carrier in the 80's, USS Dwight D Eisenhower CVN-69.

I was a structures and hydraulics tech for the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet up until last year when my Reserve unit was being downsized and decided that traveling to San Diego wasnt going to work into my Work Schedule. I am currently working for the Govt as a contractor putting US aircraft against Foreign Weapons. Our main goal is to create ways of keeping our Pilots and Crew Members safe from enemy attacks.

Another HollyWood Marine! I started boot at MCRD SD Oct '96,I think I would of rather delt with the sand flee's than going up the mountains in Camp Pen!I still get chills thinking about the Cruciable and the Grim Reaper.Did you get the pleasure of doing Mount MotherF*&$#@R? I was forced up it twice while stationed in Pendelton with MTM/GSM.

Yes but not at boot, we did it at MCT. Screw the flee's man I'd much rather be at SD, although the Reaper was a B****!!
