I'm curious about why I'm seeing so many Liberties for sale lately.

I am not selling mine (hell, even consider a second) but it could be mainly due to poor manufacturer support or not getting what they expected, especially those who needed a "baby cradle" ride... So they are selling and getting RAV 4 or some other like honda.

As for the gas prices, no matter what SUV you get, you will face similar MPG, so if that's the reason they are selling, what a pity. (unless they go sedan.. )

lastly, why so many KJs? Because it was the best selling vehicle in its class, there were over 220,000 sales in 2005 and probably half or similar of that in 06.
So you are bound to see many sales of used KJs. :)

Alot of them on the road. Plus a good number of people only keep a vehicle 2-4 years, thus you see alot for sale.

Not selling, and don't intend to. My wife has one (Limited 2wd) and so do I (Sport 4wd). For me it's the perfect vehicle - compact, tough, tire on the tailgate, nimble, and good for moderate off-road (my moderate is what the typical buyer of a $40,000 SUV would call vehicle destroying Hell). It's not a Wrangler Rubicon, but I knew this before buying it. Likewise it'll go where CRV, RAV4, Escape etc. fear to tread. I don't know why I waited a lifetime to buy one (I'm 62), having battled with full-size pickup trucks since I was a teenager. I won't go back.
