When you guys had your babies, if you had a Liberty where did you put the car seat??

Expecting Cody Jaxson to arrive in November 16th, 2005 just getting the Jeep ready early.

Is it illegal to have a car seat that touchs the seat??

Your fine on either side and yes it can toach the seat. I put my son on the passenger side. I find it easier if I am flying solo with him, to reach him if he needs something. If my wife is going with us I switch him behind the drive so that she can reach him. Hope it helps and congrates!!!

With our first baby, I put him in the middle. It let him get a nice view outside . I still do that when I go wheeling with him. When we had two car seats in there, we put one to each side leaving room in the middle.

If you go wheeling, note that the bottom frame of the car seat can and probably will rub against the plastic pillar piece (don't know what that's called) so if you care about that sort of thing you might want to put a cloth in between.

I've got too many other marks to care :D

I have the baby seat behind me. That way if Im solo I can easily view her by using my rearview mirror and still maintain a good view of the road ahead. Also this way if my wife is with us she can easily tend to her from the passenger side, make faces etc  I found that if I put the seat behind the passenger side, and if I was the only adult with the baby, I would have to turn around and look at the baby, this I thought was unsafe as I would not be able to keep my visual on the road ahead. By the way the baby seats fit so nicely in the liberty, love the anchor system. etc.

Unless it's suspended from the roof, it must touch the seat... just sayin'

We use all three positions on the second row for the kids carseats... than again we use three carseats and they all love going off-roading.

this has been a near constant arguement with the wife and I for 4 years.
in her car he's in the middle. because reasons.
in my beater 2dr car and the neon he's in the middle, because it's easier to get him in and out from either side that way.
in the jeep he's on the passenger side, because it's easier to reach him from the front seat when I'm alone, and easier to get him in and out on the passenger side. plus we frequently go 4-up (grandma) in the jeep, so having the seat in the middle would make in uncomfortable for her or anyone else to ride back there with him.

technically he's "safer" in the middle, as there's more room for the vehicle to crush in an accident. but then the only vehicle he's not centered in is built stronger than the cars he sits in the middle of.
