I got to wondering who uses which brand oil in any/all of their vehicles. If you could please also post why you chose a certain brand over others that would be helpful. Is it price? Brand name recognition/advertising? Availability? Other reasons?

Please also post if you use Synthetic or Regular oil.

I will post another poll asking about how & when your oil gets changed too.

Thanks for participating!

John

I started useing Mobil 1 synthetic at about 12k miles. I debated about useing the synthetic for a long time. It wasn't till one of the techs at the dealership I worked for had to pull the head off a sprinter with 175k. When that tech pulled the head he found that the cylinder walls still had the honing marks from the factory. I switched to Mobil 1 my next oil change. I still change mine at 3k just to be safe. It's a little more pricey than regular oil but if it makes the engine last longer I'm down with the price.

I use Mobil 1 syn for about another 2000 miles then I am changing over to Amsoil. Mobil been in my KJ since 5000 miles I am about to reach 22000, I have had no problems with it.

I just changed from dino oil to amsoil in my wife's car and she has noticed a big diference with the over all feel of the car. I don't drive her car enough, to tell, but if it makes her happy I did something right.

I like using Valvoline Synthetic because of the quality, but I am considering trying out Mobil 1 or Amsoil. Does anyone know if you can get Amsoil in stores?

Walmart Supertech synthetic with Supertech filter every 3000 miles. Cost: $15. Supertech filters are S.T.P. filters which are better than Fram.

What do you use for a filter and how many miles do you put on an oil change?

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic or Mobil Extended Interval Synthetic with Purolator Pure One Filters - only the best for my baby :!: I refuse to spend the outrageous money for Amsoil when all the tests I've seen put the two so close together anyway. I change my oil every 5000-6000 miles. So far, so good. Not a knock, ping or any other foreign sound coming from the engine after 76,000+ miles and still running as strong as the day she was new. I couldn't be happier with my Renegade!
