I was wondering what the percentage of people had manual trannys on this board.

I think this poll will probably be biased for manuals since they probably care more that they have one than people with auto's, so if you are reading this, please vote.

I have a manual because I prefer it offroad (note the word pefer, I'm not trying to advocate the use of manual boxes to everyone). The fact that the 2002 2.5 CRD only came with a 5 speed manual box in the UK also helped with my decision 8)

I originally wanted the manual but the specs showed a 1500 pound difference in the towing capacities and I really needed the 5000 pound towing capacity. Knowing then what I know now, I would have gone with the manual. :?

I wish I had a manual for my wife's 03 Renegade (it's 2WD) but since she's the one driving it most of the time, we went for automatic. For mine, I just went for automatic because I get nervous on steep inclines :D plus I haven't fully mastered the art of toe-break-gas footing ... probably never will.

I wish I had a manual :( .. When we went to the dealership to buy a renegade w/manual the guy told us that they didnt have enough interest so they never got any in .. and that it would be a fortune to order one .. so we just got an automatic

I have an 04 Renny with a five speed. I was told that it is extremely rare by the dealer. I am starting to beleive it.

When I went shopping for my Libby, I only found 3 w/manual trannies in the entire state! Much as I don't like red, it had the best equipment package of the lot....

The American CRD is not offered with the manual (6-speed  ) ...only the 5-speed auto.

Choice: Manual
KJ: Auto

New Poster and Member here - I have a '03 Renny manual 4X4, and have loved every minute driving it. I can admit they are rare to find, and I recently ordered a new '06 loaded with the 6 speed manual since you can't find them. Great vehicle I've had now with 118,000 miles.

Love the stick for off road & auto for daily driver and towing. I have the automatic for my needs.

I have and automatic because when I went to get it the dealer told me that the 3.7L's only came in an auto. I think they just didn't have any in stock. But after driving a stick for 7 years I kind of like not having too.

My truck was stick. I would have to have one stick when it came time for offroading/snow.

Commuter car is a slush box though. Once the transmission goes though, I'm opting for a swap.

Hmmm...I've never driven a manual Liberty before, sounds like fun.

On the trail I like the idea of shifting into 4WD Lo and letting the automatic transmission do the rest but there are times when a standard would be beneficial.
