My LBJs were replaced under the recall back in early 2003, those replacements just failed Saturday at 54K (more like 42K on those LBJs). Dealer covered them no problem, no I want my tow fee back from Chrysler.

What concerns me is DCX apparent willingness to risk lives. It's great my Jeeps covered and I won't be out of pocket, but will I be as lucky next time? Mine had been inspected back when i did the alignmnet/new tires in October. Last thing I thought would happen now.

I concur 100%. As soon as I have the opportunity, I'm going to switch over to Moogs. At least they're serviceable. I should have done that last week when I had the tie rod ends replaced! Was rushed and forgot about it! DOH!

Well, at least my LBJ's only have about 10k on this new set (2nd or 3rd set).

But I agree about risking lives!!!

"Also, if your Jeep was covered by the recall, then they will be replaced for the life of the vehicle. I confirmed this yesterday with the service manager. "

My issue is that this failure is happening to all years, regardless of miles, lifted or not, 2wd or 4wd, not just the KJ's made during the time frame specified by the recall. If they're using a part prone to wearing out and risking injury one week, and the same part the next week, why aren't they both covered?

From the measly 68 people that responded OVER 1/2 have had LBJ failures!! If this percentage (granted it's a small sampling) holds throughout Liberty owners, this is a HUGE problem!! Why are we not starting a class action lawsuit?!?

My LBJ's did not fail, but I had them replaced anyway when the second recall made it's way to me. The first LBJ recall did not include my Jeep for whatever reason. I just hope the new ones don't fail. The mechanic that replaced mine said he tested them prior to doing the warranty replacement and said that they were as strong as new.
