What is this?
They are recalling this already? Dont get me wrong it is the right thing to do, BUT there have been more than a few CRD owners that have experienced something similar to this and there has been no action yet.
Sure the CRD's wheels may not "lock up" when it downshifts from HI OD straight to 2ND, but if your wheels are turning slower than the road passing under them Im pretty sure it could cause a "loss of control", and if its wet or snowy out would you ever dream of pulling it into second while cruising along at 65 MPH, I DONT THINK SO :!: It would be sad if it takes someone getting killed for this problem to get fixed.

Thanks for the link isis hope you are enjoing your lost experience so far. 8)

Is this for the 42RLE (3.7) or 45RFE (CRD) transmission? I'd like to see if my 07 Latitude needs this recall addressed...I just took ownership roughly two days ago and it's already been in service once (transmission cable was loose/not attached correctly and the vehicle kept putting itself into Neutral). Is there a site through DC you can check to see if any/all recalls have been performed on a vehicle by VIN or something?

Yes there is, go to owner services and then the recall section and have the last 8 digits of your VIN ready to type in....

Excellent! Thanks a lot. No outstanding recalls for my new jeep. Always good to know.
