I have a popping noise comming from the front driveline. This noise is only while off road in low range. I originally thought it was in the suspension but it is not. The noise is intermittant. Taking it to the local 4x4 shop they said the diff and spiders were OK. They thought it might be an axle. My questions are: Have axles been a problem? If a front axle (CV joint) breaks when off road, will the vehicle still be driveable in 2 high? This vehicle has 60K on it and I have owned it since new. The lift was installed within the first 6 months of buying. Lifted 2.5 inches (RRO rockfather 1). Any replies will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Might want to check if you can pull out your CV's,mine makes a popping sound and it's the little clips that hold in the CV's are worn.Just a thought though.

Are you talking about the outer joints and have they caused you any problems or have you replaced them?
