HI I hope im in the right forum for this. i have a 2003 liberty sport. I removed the front skid plate to clean the mud out. The rear nuts that seamed to be welded came lose and i had to take them out with a magnet, is there a fix for this. |

I believe they're nut-serts of a sort, a device that when you tighten it up it clamps onto lthe cross member and stays in place. You can get replacements at a Dealer they are inexpensive. Joe |

No answer for sure, but try taking the pieces you have to a local Napa, Kragen type store or to a local hardware store. Good luck. |

ERIC at Skid Row suggested i drill a hole through the crossmember and use a longer bolt. This seems to be the easiest solution.Just be careful of the oil pan. |

The part number in the previous post is correct. I just picked up 5 yesterday at the dealership. $1.10 each. When I installed my skid plates this week, one of the nutserts was not 100% flush. It is fine for now, but if I have problems later, I want to make sure I have some handy. Since they are not at your local HW store. I messed a different one up that is used for the compartment partition. Its a 8mm metric one, and even Jeep/Chyrsler didnt have a part number. They had the number for the bag of parts ($29), but I found a local fastner place that I've placed an order through that will likely get them in this week for about $1 with shipping. Good luck getting the old one out. They are very hard to get out. |

The front skid does not use nutserts. I thought it had nuts welded to the inside of the cross member? What you said will work great tony. I do believe this is in the wrong forum also, but thats ok. |
