Hello everyone I have an 06 CRD Limited with just under 95 K on it. I have been fanatically adherent to fluid change recommendations and other maintenance items . Nevertheless, at about 75 K the infernal check engine light came on resulting in a major turbo repair and EGR replacement. Of course the warranty didn't cover the repairs and after my wallet was lightened about $2400. I went on my way. The dealer also replaced the torque converter but that thankfully was covered under warranty. Now I always use Diesel Kleen Centane Boost when refueling in hopes of preventing another EGR failure and Mobil 1 every 6 K. It is my goal and hope to keep this otherwise wonderful vehicle for 200K or more. Any tips on how to achieve this goal without any more serious expenditures would be greatly appreciated. BTW...has anyone experienced a sudden flashing of dash board lights or an unintended acceleration incident? |
