There's been talk of doing a Sunday FITS run before heading for home. Bulldog Canyon, which is just a couple of miles north of Usery Park, has been mentioned as a possible trail. It's a fun and scenic 10.5 mile long trail that takes 3.5 hours or so to run.

If we decide to do Bulldog Canyon, keep in mind a 'free' permit is required to get into the closed OHV area. A word of caution... the Rangers frequently patrol the trail checking for permits. There's a big fine for being there without one.

Note: you can get a free permit at the Mesa Ranger Station located at... 5140 E. Ingram St, Mesa. It's located on the west side of Higley Rd between McKellips and Brown.

This is an old post, but I hear that you now have to get permits for Bulldog Canyon online and that there is a processing fee. :x

That's a fun little trail, I used to go out there every once in a while when I lived in Mesa.
