Easy stuff...

I've done a few TJs, can't be that different.

how will we do it? i mean, jack stand wise? or do you just do one side at a time

jackstands on the frame.

you can do the whole front in one step, my friend took both axles off at the same time on his.

just lots of jackstands.

it helps to have two floor jacks. but is not necessary.

Looks like we should nominate andy to spearhead this lift :P

I've got a moderately tall set of jackstands and jack, tony has a moderately unreliable jack and not so tall stands. Andy if you have a decent set can you bring them? I'd advise both of you guys discuss when you're going to be here and plans for it further. I'll be coming over at 9:30 or so probably, 10 is a good time to show up and start, to give yourselves maximum amount of time on it. If we do it in Tony's garage will he have trouble getting out? I know I barely fit in there right now, but I have a rack on. I'm guessing he won't have any probles but :?:

I don't know about the garage height issue, but it wouldn't hurt to pr measure when he pulls in, and add an inch or two over his lift...

I have a set of good jackstands, but I'm not sure if they will be tall enough, might need to add some wood blocks on top.

I always have a set of jackstands in my jeep. also a full socket set, 3 ratchets, a BFH, several gauges of electrical wire, different size splices/taps/connectors, a crimping/stripping/cutting tool, many pairs of pliers, several flashlights, different screwdrivers, knives, taps, and a Machete.

along with 20' 4gauge 100% copper jumper cables, a tow strap, chains, and tiedowns. :-)r :JEEPIN: :JEEPIN:

what is an alignment cam?

its the superlift 4 inch kit

Actually about the same amount of work to do Matts as any KJ, time wise maybe longer

Alignment cam's, do they come with the kit? These are new bushings that have to be installed in the lower control arms in the front to get proper alignment( for adjusting the caster). They can be a bear to do. Poly Performance even makes a special tool just for the job. ( but it's a 100 bucks for just the tool!) You'll hear different comments about using them -vs- just going ahead with adjustable LCAs . The one I did I used the adjustable LCAs and it rides and handles just the same as stock. Some say that you have to get them super tight and the cam bolts will work OK. May do some extra reading up on installing lifts on a JK -vs- a TJ before you start
Just a suggestion :2cents:

I do ask that you guys know what you're doing enough to be confident that you can get it done in by 6 or 7. It's not my house we're having this at so I probably shouldn't encourage a late nighter.

I was thinking about that day exactly. While I had much fun, it's not my house, bathroom, kid's bedtimes, etc...

What gets you most times at someone else's house is the "Whoops I didn't know I needed that and the nearest one is 50 miles away"

Last marathon we had here at my place after 17 hours I had to start drinking, :5SHOTS: too tired, too hungry to do anything else. But got several KJs in and out of the garage that day! :pepper:

the rear track bar has a bracket that has to be welded on but i will get that done when i get back.

looks like it shouldnt be too hard. everything seems bolt on and simple.

thats a rough country lift but its about the same.

if you all dont think it can be done this soon, i can wait and try it my self, or have a lift party of my own.

Matt, I think the better plan would be to do it at your house. I'd even bring tools. That way we could just go at it for as long as needed...

this is going to be pretty massive. i think i'll hang on to the lift until i get the lca's because i hear the cam bolts suck.
