As far as retro-style vehicles go the Challenger and the Mustang win my vote. Most of the others just miss the mark, some by a a foot, some by a mile. But I'm partial to Classic American steel (and aluminum) 8)

American "production" cars (as a whole) can't stack up with the European sports cars. Nothing is a "real" American car anymore.

But the current World's fastest production car ever recorded was the SSC Ultimate Aero TT built by Shelby Supercars

Top speed reached was 257 mph set on Sep 13, 2007.
