Thought I'd share this from today - perfect example of complacency in wheeled sports. Relevant to jeepin as well.. so not quite Off topic

but in anycase... It's one of my biggest gripes - I've seen the same **** during crawling comps with 4x4's - I guess the second gripe is the idiots that sit on the barrier (Other than line judge) - noone should be "on the track" other than the line judge and the flagman. Beyond being a blob of muddy water that the audience and other people can't see through you just flat out get in the freaking way and are a liability..

This was from one of the stock classes - the drivers "Co-whatever" son, friend, helper, lover, whatever he was just about got wack-a-mole'd when the hub broke

http://s643.photobucket.com/albums/uu16 ... kenhub.mp4

tractor had to be lifted and removed from the track by a house crane

this particular class only avgs a wheel speed of about 7.5mph

the super class we usually run in is about 35 depending on the gear and the track
our modified has wheel speeds around 100mph

in 94 a hitch broke and the modified tractor turned loose from the sled and went almost 40 feet UP, the announcers booth at a state fair
the drivers still around to gripe about people being stupid due to really well built safety equipment

stay the heck out from under peoples tires / fenders / etc on and off the track..

FFS

edit: first few secs of the video are jacked -- i'm a video edit n00b.. and i have no idea how to embed the video to the post so.. sorry have to click the link for the photobucket

wack-a-mole fixes stupid permanently

for about 24hrs till people forget it even happened, then it's just -1 stupid.. and everyone else continues on till something happens again

Sadly every activity has these types of people. No common sense. You would think people in general would learn from others mistakes, but it doesn't seem to happen
