Of course, and oil price (at the pump) is going to cost even less in the near future, based on current barrel price and decreasing demands. This will make "trading up" to hybrids even less logical.

On a slightly related topic, companies like Petroleum Development (PETD, I own stocks in this company) have been exploring ways to stimulate existing wells (which they can rent / buy cheaply) to increase production dramatically.

How quickly they forget.

Do you think the high price per barrel really was due to availability as they said? Proof is right now in the prices. Immediately after two devastating hurricanes that shut down the oil rigs for awhile and yet prices came down. Wow! A miracle that there is a sudden increase in oil that they could lower prices. Not!

It was ALL about sticking it to us so their stock holders could bank the big buck. Now that the man can't afford the gas after the crash, they have to drop prices. No change in oil availability now was there? Are they also trying to make us forget about the need for alternative fuels? Yes. Don't forget about it. As soon as the investors can afford gas again, they will riase the prices back up. Now is the time to keep up the high tempo research for alternative fuels and cars. They burnt the bridge once too many times.

I just got a full tank of that $3.05 stuff yesterday, and today I saw a no-name for $2.99. I wonder how long the prices will keep dropping before they go back up to who knows what?????

Sunday I will be burning the expensive stuff and when I get back I will put some of the "cheap" stuff in for kicks..... :D LOL

Tenpenny (Ten-Ten and Penny Rd) is where I get my gas in Holly Springs. It seems they somehow consistently set the lowest price in the area.

$1.67 just up north of Cinci, I can actually enjoy driving my Tahoe again. It'll start jumping in the spring I would bet.

Paid $1.87 yesterday, and its still dropping.

I never thought we'd see gas under $3.00 again, and I am totally blown away by gas under $2.00.
