One thing too.. make sure you pay your tuition on time.. I personally will never return to a University thank $$$ my college I attend now will allow me to get my Bachelor's in History.. Then I can go on to a Baptist College to get my ministry degree.. Never again will I go to a university though unless it's absolutely required.. The best advice I can give you is this: Always read your college Text books because even if you know what they are talking about it's always good to refresh your memory and some of it may be new to you. Also I recommend taking Liberal Arts and Science classes for Humanities and Electives.. For my Humanities class I have American Popular Music and I have Music Appreciation which is like so easy it aint funny.. Then for my Electives I'm taking Anthropology, Early Western Civ and Intro to Old Testament.. (Learning Hebrew which is a plus!) My biggest class has 22 people so I'd also recommend trying to get smaller class sizes as you tend to learn more.. 8) just saying since I've been there and done that.. My history class had 500 people in it and boy..

App is $10,000 a year, and I got $14,000 a year in financial aid (my mom isn't exactly rich). So I'm covered 8) .

My situation is probably somewhat unique, but I would guess I'm considered in my junior year (or sophomore - junior somewhere in between because of military experience and the way I came into college.) College is a different animal than high school, and you probably won't be able to approach it with the same attitude as your used to. If your high school was anything like mine they don't prepare you for the coursework of college. I take around 18 credits a semester and I would easily say I have to do about 60hr / week coursework and studying (I never once studied for a test in high school, and never did one minute of homework outside school). I will concede that since I'm going for Computer Engineering I have quite a bit of lab work on top of course load. Personally my major warning is DON'T UNDERESTIMATE COLLEGE, it's not high school.

Good luck man. App state is a realllll pretty campus. I graduated from WVU last December...#1 party school for awhile. I drank my face off, never read, only studied the night before tests.. and I got my degree. Just GO TO CLASS. :D

BTW...I know some girls from Charlotte going to App... Izer sisters. I'm actually moving to Matthews, NC here in a few weeks... have to meet up and BS sometime, or BS at App state if I ever go up to visit them.

We should meet up, with all of the Jeeps up here I'm in the mood to go offroad at all times. I saw this HUGE WJ my first day, I immediately fell in love :P . Just need to find some good places around the area.

Oh yeah, it's been a lot of fun. I have a good bit of AP credit hours, so I'm just taking 13 hours this semester. People are great, school is great, atmosphere is awesome. Can't ask for more.
