It's been a long time since I've seen a $2 bill. My grandma used to give them to me. They had dates in the 70's, and Susan B. Anthony dollars. Do they still make them? How do you get them? Do you have to ask for them at the bank?

I was at the bank this morning and asked for a $2 bill. The teller happened to have ONE of them.........so I got it....going to try to have some fun with it........hehehe

Post Office still gives dollar coins for change. I got a Kennedy fifty cent piece the other day from a golf course. You don't see those very often either.

If you have the old silver dollar coin, I'll take it. Try that one at a store though.

Are you kidding? Don't spend those!!
I used to collect 1/2 and full silver dollars. My parents moved while I was in college and the movers swiped the container they were in and the $2 bill I had pinned to my cork board.

I used to keep a $2 bill in my wallet just so I would always have money. Helped me keep my cash spending under check for a long time. Obviously, I still spent it in the end.

I bought some stamps from the a machine at the post office. The stamps cost a dollar something (about 8 years ago). All I had was a $20 bill. The machine spit out 18 Sacagawea dollars (the government was really trying to push them at this time).

Come time to visit the Ren Faire I've gone to the post office specifically to get these. Carry them in a pouch and pay for all my food and drink with "gold" and "silver".

when I have to go down to our main office in Columbus the parking garage gives out dollar coins as change, I have a heck of a time getting rid of them! Last trip to Orlando in the spring I tried 8 different places while traveling south before someone would take them, now every time I am down there and get them I just throw them in a jar as its too hard to get rid of them!

I gave five to a waitress as a tip and I saw her pick them up as we were leaving and she had this look of was this all I was worth, I think she thought they were quarters

When I was a kid, my dad would pay my allowance and rewards for good grades with silver dollars and two dollar bills. I saved quite a few of the silver dollars but I think I only have maybe two of the two dollar bills. As I recall the two dollar bills were only printed to celebrate the bicentennial in 1976 so they might actually be worth quite a bit more than $2 to a collector.

The did/would do that on August 1st. I can't find any news report from after that date to confirm it (the company that supplied them with paper were told to stop shipment, after all).

On the positive side, while American preschoolers learn to count to ten, Zimbabwean children were learning to count to quadrillion ...

Great story, I had a similar experience when I was a Store Manager for Blockbuster many years ago. A woman came in with a $2 and my clerk started a huge argument with her. I darn near pissed myself I was laughing so hard at my clerk. Come to think of it, the same girl took in a $20 and gave change for a $100. This was at a time when they switched how they looked. I was amazed and saddened that i had to let her go. She was too much fun and perhaps sadly easy to laugh at. What is the worst part is that she was in line for Cum Laude at her university.

Awe man, to bad she didn't call the cops. Hate to say it but if I got a call like that I would look straight at the clerk and spit out "You got to be f*in kidding me!" I've grown a really short fuse for stupid people lately.

You're going to have an awfully long career in law enforcement. My short stupidity fuse is one of the main things that made me decide not to head down that career path.

I got one almost as good, i was at a small truck fueling station when an owner operator pulls in pumps 100 gallons and goes to pay with some new $100 bills(this was when they first came out) and the attendant would not take them, he made them shut down and go to bank with him to prove it was real
