Holy cr@p, that is a few miles away from my house. It is on Lougheed Highway at 287th Street, the border of Maple Ridge and Mission. We were wondering how he managed to get hit by a train at that crossing, it goes into a lumber mill and the direction the train came from is wide open, no visible obstructions.

I feel sorry for the train driver, not the truck driver. All the truck driver had to do was obey the flashing lights, which come on before the booms come down. Even if that was a level crossing with no booms, you still stop for the flashing lights!!

 Stupidity seems to be running rampant these days! I too feel badly for the train driver - the truck driver is just a moron for ignoring all the warning lights and chimes.

It looks like the warning arm hit his sleeper (and skipped behind it), causing him to back up and break the warning arm. I guess he panicked, stopped going backward, and decided that he could make it, regardless of the train's approaching speed.

Did he think he was in a sports car?
