I seem to recall you posted a pic a few months ago of a bunch of chicks, I guess this is the end result? Back when I was growing up in rural America my father and his sister would order a bunch of chicks to raise, then every fall all of us kids had the 'pleasure' of chasing them down and helping do all the fun tasks that come at the end. So yes I do know what a chicken with his head cut off looks like running around Getting any eggs out of this bunch? |

The brown ones are welsummers, they lay a large dark brown egg that is sometimes spotted. The black one is a jersey giant, she should be around 10lbs when she is grown! I think I will get an aruacana/amerucana next.....they lay blue green eggs |

I thought the blacks may have been jersery giants, I went with rocks due to still being small. we had aruacanas when I was little. Kids never believed the chickens layed blue-green eggs....that was my show and tell. |

The black and whites are barred rocks, I only have a single black one, the jersey giant - She is getting quite big already! |

Next time I'm up at my dad's I'll have to get some pictures of his birds. Chickens are tasty, but some of the most EVIL animals there are. Pheasants are more pleasant They all look tasty to me:D |

Roosters can be aggressive, but then you usually eat the aggressive ones and leave the ones who let you get to the hens. |
