More Info. On The Datil Peppers

After my plant stopped producing peppers I dug it up and took it inside because it was getting cold. Bad mistake! That thing leaves a clear sticky residue on everything under it! Anyway, it was dropping all it leaves and it was time for the Christmas directions to go up. So I took it back outside and planted it in the yard again. I then cut all the branches down to 5 or 6 inches long. We had some days in the upper 70's and the darn thing started growing new leaves!! The last week or so we had our "cold snap" and the night temperatures were going down to 27*. (We average 10 to 12 night temps and or below freezing.) So I put a trash can over the plant and a 60 watt light in there with the plant. Our lows now are to be in the upper 40's so the trash can is off.

I think the plant is a little tougher than everyone thinks it is. BTW, all the seeds are gone now. I ended up getting 103 peppers off that one plant!

Those peppers are HOT too. I remember them when I was in JAX, whooo whee!
