Most aftermarket parts ( pistons/heads/etc...) are designed around the factory plugs and should say you need a shorter reach plug if they do not use the factory plug.

Every engine I have had with aftermarket pistons, even the 11:1's, used the stock reach plug.
If you have doubts, you should check with the various manufacturers of the parts you have.

Unless you used aftermarket heads and they specifiy something else, plain ol' small block plugs are probably where to start.

You may want to run a cooler plug, one step below stock maybe. Stock plug should work fine unless you used after market heads. You can always bring #1 up to TDC, put some type of marking pencil/wax/etc on end of plug and screw in, then remove and see if there is marks on end of plug and top of piston.

Colder plugs are NOT for tuning.Since you still have a cast iron head go with a quality plug in the stock heat range.
