So I set out this morning to find a cb shop, finally found one on the other side of burlington, nc. Picked up a 5/8ths wave 4 ft wilson tuneable flexible whip. Got there 30 minutes too late to borrow the guys SWR so I ended up not buying a new radio while I was there. I was runnin around lookin for a swr the other day and the only one I could find was at radio shack for 49 freakin dollars. Last time i bought one they were like 20!

I already had a set of twin fiberglass whips from my old truck so I stole the mount from one of them and painted it black incase I decided to use it, already had a quick disconnect in the bottom of my tool box. Now I just have to make a decision on where I'm going to mount it. Well.. that and buy a new CB, my old cb (I do mean old it's like 30+ years old) is missing the 3 prong power plug and I can't find the power mic for it either so I may as well just buy a new radio.

Then it was on to sparkplugs, I had been gettin some pretty dismal under 17mpg on the highway and sluggish performance after being a lazy*** and letting a local shop do my last plug change. 3,000 miles later I hit autozone to get a fresh set of autolight plats, and they only had 5 .. what is anyone other than a 4 banger going to do with 5 plugs... I ended up getting the ngk irridiums. Which actually seem to be pretty good.

So i pulled the plugs and ended up with 6 .. Champion sparkplugs in my hand. I felt better after I returned home from the shop the tune up was performed at with 60 bucks in my pocket from the refund. Then I ended up spending like 20 minutes raking the gravel back into the driveway because I had displaced half of it into the edge of the woods when I left enroute to the shop.

To make matters even better, a tool elf had taken off with my last remaining good sparkplug socket and I couldn't find any of my extentions. So the 2nd trip to autozone for the socket and extension then drove back home, washed the crv to waste time waiting for the heads to cool. Started changing plugs and proceded to break my favorite ratchet while putting in the first plug, now it's only good for removing things. Oh and that was the only ratchet my dialing pointer works with.

So after I changed the plugs and flipped my lid at the shop for putting champion plugs in my jeep, raking the driveway back together I ended up washing my jeep in the dark

So all in all, I got a really good running jeep back, still need to decide where im putting my whip, still gotta get another cb even though I don't really want to, I loved my old cb but im not sure it even works anymore.
Still havent mounted either of my fire extinguishers...

Other than the plugs I halfway feel like I didn't get anything done today :?

What if we work in the coal mines? It pays the bills better than the majority of the jobs out there... :)

Sounds like a good day working on the Jeep. As long as you learned something then its all good. :)

You gotta come out sometime. Besides, work doesn't count, my real day begins when I leave work.
