Man, job searching at this current time w/ the economy is a bummer. I graduated college in December with a BSJ in Advertising...same thing as marketing. I think I've sent out over 40 resumes at this point, and have probably heard from 6 humans who all said they're not hiring atm. Grad school is looking good, but not sure if I'd like to come out 12,000 in debt and still not be able to find a job in a couple years. /end rant. |

Take the entrepreneurial route... Start your own marketing firm. Now's the best time. Finances will be hard to acquire, but when this economy turns you can ride the wave to the top! Oh, by the way, when you start it up could you please hire me? I need a job. |

Haha, I do plan to own my own business some day. But you know what they say, it takes money to make money...and the last time I checked my bank account, it told me to go to hell! |

Geesh, they really turned you away? Do they not base it off any other type of scales? I don't look 270 at all, and only weigh that much b/c my other hobby is lifting... |

they have two different weight waivers entry level , weight is 15% above requirement or body mass weight waiver since muscle weighs more than fat 15% was the Corps' weight waiver, and i **** you not, i've seen kids go into the navy who had to be AT A MINIMUM, 30% over i personally would have kept them at a poolee level without a contract until their guts had atleast shrunk by 3/4ths we're talkin pot belly pig navy recruits. Pretty much if you pass the IST (initial strength test) and do decent on the ASVAB they'll ship you even if you're overweight. Quick story: this kid walks into the station, wants to join the Corps, nothin new right? he was 5'9" and almost 290 lbs. every recruiter in the joint took turns workin with him, exercising and running, helped him with his diet etc 4 months later he shipped to P.I. at 210 lbs almost 30% over he made it to TD 14 got sent to PCP, was stuck in PCP for like a month, went back to training got back to TD 39 or so, messed up his acl, ended up in MRP for 2 months, went back to training and graduated he was about 165 when he graduated, real smart kid too it's 4am why am I awake? |
