SO, after being really bored, and I decided to clean up my key chain. Rearranging the 5 on there. Then I saw the key for the dreaded 240.
So, as bored as I am, I went out to the garage to start the beast. Normal, No puddles, no leaks. Until I tried to start it. I put the key in, and pressed the button. It did start right up, knocking as usual. But I am almost positive that it is either the timing chain, or top end issues.

so, I push on the brake pedal, and clutch, nothing. There was pressure, but then none. The brakes are gone again. I press a few more times. Nnoting. So, I decide to let it warm up for a couple minutes. I get out, walk around to the back, and see this funny looking ring on the wall behind the car. lol there was a 6" blast mark from the black crap that it just blew out of the exhaust. . Then I see this big wet spot under, and around the left rear tire. Brake fluid. OHHH THATS JUST GRAND!!!

Lol, now I know there is a lot of work to do on this. It started as a fun project, but my wife just HAD to have it. SO, I got this. But, if there is any MN guys that could help me out with a 240 motor, that would be killer.

Thanks for listening to the rant. Later boys.

Anyone really good with motor sounds, via a video?
I tried to talk to a couple different mechanics, but they all said different things. lol.

It doesn't pop on the CEL, Hell, I don't even know if it has one of those. I THINK, the computer may have been reflashed, before I got a hold of this thing. There was some other really sketchy work done to it too. Right now, I know it is in need of some serious suspension redo.

I think the cheap bastad's just chopped the springs to lower it.

SO, first things first, I am going to either have the motor rebuilt...BOOO!!!
Or, get a JDM swap done.

Can someone tell me if they have emission checks in NC?
Will they allow it to pass if they do? (JDM Swap)

I keep trying to talk her into a Big Block, or something cool, and easy, but Im not sure the structural stability of the car could handle it.

DMAN I can't wait to have a garage! I need it!

does your 240 have the KA or the SR20? Im big into imports and have worked on many 240s. Let me know what you have done to it and I may be able to help.

I haven't done anything to it. lol. The [expletive] clowns before me did.

It has the KA in it. Hoping to not go turbo, but it looks like I may have to.

Along with rust removal. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse.

Marine, WTF is a safety only vehicle. lol. Aren't those the ones that follow on a hump?
I'm not tracking.

Edit: For personal enjoyment only.
