some of my 4x4 buddies are looking into getting a tube bender. do any of you have any experience bending, and what bender do you recommend?

btw, its for making roll cages, sliders, roof racks, etc.

get one that does mandrel bends, I think is what its called. if not I heard filling the tube with sand does some-what of the same.

That is the one I have. I'll post up some pics later.
THe other day i was bending up a tube rear bumper for my sons TJ when the u-bracket doo-hickey for my 1.75" die decided to not work properly and ended up bending which lead to the holes no longer lining up properly. I've tried and tried to work it back into shape w/ my shop press but can't figure a way to make that happen. Can't figure why the heck it happened either but now I have to replace a $4 piece of steel for the low-low price of over $45. :?

Oh well, it has paid for itself in the couple projects I have used it for. For the time being we will just switch over to the 1" die to make a slim roof rack for his TJ while we wait for the new piece to show up.
