| Post subject: | camera HELP needed! |
Today I tried to take a picture and below was the results. This has happened before and I fixed it by shutting the camera off and back on again. This time it didn't fix it. It is a: Cannon PowerShot A95 with 5.0 mega pixels. I think it is about 5 years old. Any ideas what the problem is? Terry THE PICTURE:

Did you try taking the battery out as well ? Was this the only picture in the series that's taken this way or does the camera only allow you to take one pic ? If the camera's done this to you in the past maybe it's starting to crap out ? |

I had the same problem with our Cannon Powershot A75 just a couple of months ago. Cannon had some issues with faulty LCD screens. My wife sent it back to Cannon and they replaced the screen at no charge and we had it back in about a week. If you want I can check on the info needed to send it back for repair. Just let me know. |

You generally ahve 3 components that will cause an image like that: 1) The sensor... if this has gone bad it's time to buy a new camera. 2) Your memory card... try a different one or reformat the one you have. You may be losing the shot somewhere in the write process. 3) Your LCD screen... This doesn't seem to be the problem being as you uploaded the pic and it was still messed up. THings are leaning toward your sensor being the culprit... |

I actually found out it wasn't the actual LCD screen that Cannon repaired it was the CCD Image Sensor. Here is a link to the Cannon site with a phone# to call for instructions to send it back for repair. Free of charge. Hope that helps. http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contr ... 2&id=48264 |

If the memory card has gone bad, formatting it won't help. You would also see an error message on your screen if the memory card was bad. My guess is it's the image sensor. |
