Looks like Superflow is the way to go......Even if one fries, you can get 16 of them for the price of a Powertank (not including adding the cost to refill). Buy two and keep one as a spare. I wonder if I can run two at once?

Edit: Just checked prices online. You can't get them for that cheap anymore and supposedly discontinued!

Still, if time is very precious (excluding that crazy price for the Oasis), the Ultimate Air co2 system is faster than Powertank. Add another $150+ to the Powertank for the Monster system add-on....and you only save 2 minutes for four tires.

Depends on what you want them for. I went through the compressors / compressors with tanks etc. Now have a Powertank and so far love it, air tools no problem , minor inconvienance to refill but for what I have in it ( under 115, guy needed money BAD! ) it works great

If you only need to air up tires those mentioned above work great or add a tank and have some reserve

A powertank won't cut it for the constant on/off highway on the 3 week trip in mexico... need something more sustainable.

For everyday wheeling I'd be all over a powertank

tommudd is right. And for that matter, not so long ago I debated the tank brands verses compressors verses building my own and must admit that tjkj2002 was 100% correct and I was 100% wrong.

I just posted about the new book "Four Wheeler's Bible" and just tonight read an in-depth comparison regarding airing up and the tools available including the pros and cons to all and chart comparisons.

According to the tests revealed in that book, with a CO2 tank, you can fill 27 31x10.50 tires from 10 to 30 psi in a quick 42 seconds each. The author goes on to say that the average CO2 tank puts them in the same realm as a mid-priced compressor alone, or a lower-end compressor and tank, but the tests showed their performance is exceeded only by the most powerful and expensive compressors. The downside there were two, if you run out of CO2, you're left on the trail with no means to air up - and the costs, which were said to be anywhere between $15.00 - $25.00 per refill from the local welding shop or fire extinguisher supplier.

When I reach the point on my upgrade / mod / to buy list, I am going with a 10 gal Powertank.

I would add to have a cheap back up compressor in case your main compressor dies or you run out of CO2. I had 2 cheap compressors once that I would use at the same time but one died and I made the mistake of going out with just the remaining. It died too. Thankfully, when that one died I had 3 out of 4 tires aired up, so I used the spare tire. Good thing it was already aired up. :wink:
