I rarely go downtown at all even though its only ten minutes away. I may though when I bring my wife's best friend back with me in a month to show her the "big" city at night :-)r

Yes my wife is sending her best friend home with me, nice of her isn't it? :BANANA:

I'll also try and get some more pics of Tanzania, since I'll be driving our own vehicle this year I can stop more often and take pics

Nice fireworks, Jayme! Tom, that Wright Bros plane is cool. I would've paid to see that. Here's a few from a recent trip up the California coast:

Just got my new 50mm 1.8 Nikkor lens for my D80

So far its fantastic!
Great for headshots, i love how it gets the subject in focus and EVERYTHING infront or behind it is way out of focus. This replicates the human eye is what this lens does.

Beautiful faces I know! But great for headshots/portraits!

I love how it blurs light this much! i know its a crummy picture but it gives you an idea at wide open 1.8 does

1/2 second exposure at 1.8 with the lights totally out inside

and to show the focus front and back

This is taken out of the open window of my KJ in the parking garage at my work. I was just testing out a new lens, but I kept the shot because it felt like being in one of those shooter video games.
