The Arizona Immigration law. Some reports state that there is about 460,000 undocumented people in the state. As we all know the vast majority of those people are of Spanish decent. The law gives the police departments the right/duty to check the status of people they believe may be one of the 460K people. The opponents decry that it is profiling. But, if the 460K people had blue left hands I don't think there would be any concerns about stopping all people with a blue left hand. Now that is an extreme example but I think it gets the idea across. When someone commits a crime the police ask for a description of the person and use that information to look for the person that committed the crime. What's the problem. There was a man on the news that is opposed to the new law because although he is legal his parents and friends are not and he drives them anywhere they need to go. If caught transporting "undocumented" people he will be guilty of a crime himself. Where is the problem here?

I don't blame these people for wanting to come here to make a better life for themselves. More power to them! But, a person makes an application out to come here legally and has to wait a year or more. But at least that person is doing it legally. On the other hand another person sneaks across the border illegally and it's over and done with in short order. These are hard working people for the most part. They just want a better life. But it has to be done legally.

I applaud the Arizona government for trying to stop this flow of illegal people. If we had a truly secure border with Mexico this wouldn't be such a big problem. It will be interesting to see if this law is deemed legal as I'm sure the ACLU will be taking it to court. That is another subject altogether.

UT is poised to follow AZ's lead... good for them. All this thread needs just one incommando post to be moved to the wadded panties section though.

Well, I hope it doesn't get moved. It doesn't seem to be generating much discussion either. Everyone worries about being politically correct. What about following laws? The people are breaking the laws of the US government...period. Get them out of here! Let them come back in a legal way.

Means he agrees with you, that you said exactly what he would have said, etc.
