Just curious if anyone on here regularly plays golf, either a lot or just the weekend warrior type. I moved down here to Charleston and got a job at a course for the summer before I head back to school. Boy is it hot here...

Anyways, I love to play, and I've gotten my game back to around High 70's. Anyone care to jump in?

If you see anyone wiping out the inside of the cup on the green with TP.
Most likely they are a Chicago Politician, better head the other way.

Good Luck :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

I'm a recent convert. 2 buddies and I play 9 holes after work every Thursday night at a golf course here near the plant. I'm not good at all, but I'm getting better and more consistent. I shoot between 60 and 70 on the 9 holes - up from around 85 when I first started a month or so ago. My goal is to get into the 40s consistently.

Some people have too much money and too much time. Fortunately, we can keep them isolated on golf courses and protect the rest of society.

COME ON, MAN!!

My clubs only cost me $250 5 years ago, and the green fee with cart locally is $14. Believe me when I say I am not among the moneyed elite!

Time, however. . . I need. . . more time.

Too much money? Haha. Yeah I guess a kid in college working his butt off during the summer so he only goes broke 4 months into the year instead of 1 month has too much money. Don't stereotype.

And linewarbr, you'll get there. Golf is the great game that you can play until the day you die, and you'll still have something to work on. I play with my dad and grandpa over the holidays and it's always a good time. Just played today, I did absolutely awful and got burnt, but it's still a lot of fun.

i try to get out as much as i can. I got a set of Titleist DCI (1,3-P) irons that have lasted me over 8 years, love them to death. Also got a Titleist 60 degree wedge for approach shots :D My woods consist of Callaway Hawkeyes (1,3,5) and they are tough to hit, took me about 1 year to nail down the driver. But the putting is not my part of the game, i have an Odyssey White Hot putter and it hits wayyyy to hard. But I usually hit about 80s constantly. Need to goto the driving range a lot more often.

Anyone here that golf use a 1 iron????

I sliced a ball into a Jeep that was driving down the road beside the fairway. I like Jeeps too much so I never played again.

It's called a joke. :P

My bad for getting so defensive. It does help that I get to play any course for free here in Charleston.

And STINGN, I love Callaway. I've got the Callaway FT-9 Driver and Callaway X woods (Graduation present), as well as some Callaway X-20 irons I found for a steal at a pawn shop. I've got an old school PING putter that's about 20 years old, I want an Odyssey 2-Ball or any kind of heavy big headed putter. I can barely hit my 4 iron well, couldn't imagine any lower than that.
