Oh my! I keep toying the thought of modding my Jeep more, over and over in my mind. I cannot decide what to do. My plans were to have a custom front and rear bumper made, install a front winch, regear to 4.10s and have a custom roof rack made. Already have my wheels I want (Renegade wheels). I just cannot decide if I should keep modding my Jeep or buy a trail Jeep. Either way, it's going to cost about the same and I think the trail Jeep would cost more in the long run. My KJ isn't going anywhere, so I mine as well keep modding it. Has anyone else run into this problem? :dizzy: :banghead: I know one thing, I have Jeep fever!!!

owning 2 vehicles is a hassle. so if you can afford the two go for it. im happy with just one and do little things to it here and there

I'm sure everyone on here will tell you to stop modding your jeep. :ROTFL:

I want to get a second vehicle but if/when I can afford it, it will be a muscle car. A very old muscle car. 8) I don't see the point of having two similar vehicles...unless you're planning on making one a hardcore rock crawler. :2cents:

For the last 40 years I have always had at least one 4 wheel drive in the garage, sometimes three or four at a time. Went the dedicated trail rig way back in the late 70s and thought I would save money. Wrong spent more due to then needing a trailer to get it to the trails, had to get a ton truck to pull the trailer, and on it went . Finally sold everything and went back to having street driven rigs capable of driving them everyday.
Now if I lived out west where there are way more opportunities then it may change but here in the midwest???

Me I bought the KJ so I would not be tempted to do anything to it. Its worked very well so far :ROTFL:

Depends. . . Is your KJ also your daily driver? and what kind and what difficulty wheeling do you want to do? For awhile i was content on just wheeling my KJ but i got tired of breaking her and or worried about a serious trail breakage and not having a way home. I wanted to do some more difficult stuff so i found me a fairly cheap XJ some one started as a project and add a few things and she was trail ready all for about $4,000. But then i realized that driving that rig to the trail was sketchy at best and got a tow rig LOL. Started with just the KJ and ended up an XJ and a Ram LOL

The jeep is my dd. I plan on buying another vehicle eventually. But that's atleast 2yrs down the road. I'll keep slowly modding the kj like I have been for the past few yrs.

I'll just keep adding to the KJ and eventually retire it to trails only when I can afford another vehicle.

X2
and a trailer. lol
But since the Navy keeps deciding that I need to be deployed and give me no time in the last year and a half to go wheeling at all and the next year not looking like much home time i will prob sell the XJ and mod out the Ram until the navy decides they don't need me to deploy for awhile and send me to shore duty i might get another trailer queen trail rig. But in the meantime if my schedule allows i can still do some light wheeling with the KJ, or let the wifey go snow bashing.

You can still have fun and trail the KJ as a DD, just got to take it easy with her lol, try and resist that urge to follow the JK on 35's up something a KJ aint supposed to go up unless you go completely bonkers and SFA it.

Sounds like my friend Jose who tried keeping up with trail buggies in his stocker (before he lifted it). He actually went almost the whole way up a hill that built Jeeps couldn't get up :ROTFL: he's over in afghanistan now. he can't wait to get back and go wheeling with everyone

Where do I fit in with my 10 vehicles?

(I had to do that math in my head a couple of times to make sure I wasn't forgetting any)
