Before the Yugo was a Yugo, it was a FIAT!!
Fiat sold the old factory and production equipment to the at the time Yugoslavs who cranked out the crap.
The rest is History, including all the Jokes :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

The Yugo wasn't actually a bad car, but they were cheap to purchase and were treated like disposable cars. I know of some that were treated right, guy I know in Jersey had one that could beat Corvettes around autocross courses. He made made a wide body kit for it to cover the wider tires he put on it cause it was putting out enough power to spin the wheels.

I remember when a Cadillac dealership in Pittsburgh would give you a Yugo when you bought a new Caddy! They said you could put it in the trunk as a spare! :-)r
