I'm going to say this first;

PLEASE DO NOT TURN THIS INTO A "I HATE ABS" or "ABS IS UNNECESSARY" post. That's not what this is about. If those are your feelings, please hit the back button or read the rest of this post and leave your uninvited comments to yourself. If you don't, that makes you a troll.

Thank you. :D

This is a just a heads up to everybody with failing speed sensors and the other various reasons that these lights are illuminated (obviously not including removing the fuse to disable it manually yourself).

Image

At the moment my front driver-side speed sensor is dead.
My Jeep has these current codes;
C1011–LEFT FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL ERRATIC PERFORMANCE
C1014–LEFT FRONT WHEEL SPEED COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE
C1046–LEFT FRONT WHEEL PRESSURE PHASE MONITORING

If your lights are on because of a malfunction, I suggest you get it checked out and rectified as soon as possible.
When the computer has a malfunction, anything can happen. As advanced as these systems are, when they are not working properly, unforeseen things can happen, and usually not in a good way.

I'll continue, I'm not preaching about ABS, I'm just sharing my story.

Anyway, last night I was driving home from a friend's place. It had been raining pretty hard all day, at the moment it was not raining but the ground was still very wet.
I was getting onto the highway on one of those cloverleaf interchanges. I was not driving very fast, especially in the inclement weather.
As I was coming around the right hand turn, the truck decides to lock up the front passenger side wheel (to compensate for the driver side issue) causing my truck to make a complete 180. Thankfully it was late/early in the morning and there was not much traffic. I went head first into a decent sized curb, kept spinning and slamming my rear wheel into the curb as well.
I definitely need an alignment and my rear rim is dented, hopefully the axle is fine.

And before anyone says how I should have reacted and turned out of the skid, the Jeep (and physics) had already taken control. Or maybe I could have downshifted to take control, but that would have just locked up the rear tires and I would have still spun around since the rear of the Jeep had already lost traction.

Ok, that is all.
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I just wanted to share my story and let people know what is possible.

Keep on keepin' on.

It was your tires that caused your issue, most likely to much psi in them, along with to much speed.

Quite possibly. But probably not.
I should have also mentioned that this occurs while driving straight on dry roads as well.
The front passenger side brake locks up, and by locks up I mean that pulsation that ABS gives you. It pulls the truck to the side of the road. Thankfully it's the shoulder side. At that point, I can counter steer, and it's not that big of a deal. Its always been at slow speeds so I was never too worried.
I have no acceleration because the computer thinks I'm slipping, and if I hit the brakes, it pulls even harder.
Usually when that happens, I just pull over, wait for it to finish spazing out, and then carry on.

:)

Now you're teasing me, lol.
What's the issue?
I have about 20k+ miles on the Frankenlift.
Haven't had any real problems with it yet.

Your ESP is getting freaked out by the lift leading to intermittent issues, not as common on '06's KJ's as they still have a actual throttle cable and yours does not.KK's are having the same issues also.

Ahhh, that I've read before and I was in that discussion too.
I think I just need a new speed sensor (read: hub).

Like I said, I haven't had any issues before.
And now I'm lower than I was when I was freshly lifted.

JUST TO UPDATE:
I'm really glad that the lights were indeed the speed sensor.

I ordered a new Timken Hub. $100 and change shipped, not bad.
It was nice over the weekend and I finally had a day off, with the help of some LOST peeps, we were able to swap it right out.

Now I have no lights on my dash. It's a little strange. It's so dark, lol.
