My 2000 XJ OE upper radiator hose came with a plastic protector that covered the hose. When I bought a replacement hose, I threw the plastic hose protector away along with the old radiator hose. My new hose is rubbing on the battery and causing wear issues. Do you know where I can buy a replacement hose protector?

Take an old Radiator hose cut off about 6 inches long, slit it length ways and slide it over the hose attach it with plastic wire ties

Actually, that’s not a bad idea. I’ll probably end up going to Home Depot to see if I can find some convoluted tubing that they use to protect large electrical gauge wiring. If not, then I might take your suggestion and use my old lower radiator hose when I replace it.

A guy on the NAXJA forum said he bought hose replacements at CARQUEST and they came with the “protectors”. What brand does CARQUEST carry? I can’t remember where I bought mine, but I think it was from the dealership and they were made by GATES. I got gypped! :banghead:
