So I've got my ARB bumper in the garage.
Decided to clean it up a little while waiting patiently for the installation hardware to arrive.
There is tape residue on the bumper from when it was originally packed 4 years ago,....
A LOT of tape residue. I've tried acetone, and "Goo Gone" in an attempt to clean this from the surface,
but no dice.
I'm thinking the fact that the steel is at about 35 degrees may have a little something
to do with the poor performance of the standard cleaning fare.
I thought about a mild abrasive, like a heavy duty rubbing compound, but haven't tried that as yet.
I am going to be repainting it black (it's gray at the moment), and just need to clean it to the
point that the "tape pattern" won't bleed through the new finish, although a light sanding hasn't
entirely been ruled out yet.
Anyone got any other ideas?????
