To all the computer geeks out there - I'm having some issues with a new wireless PCI card I bought for our desktop computer. We just moved so it's new living quarters don't lend to being hardwired.

Basically, I can install the drivers fine and the connection software that came with the card, and the software can find the wireless signal and everything seems ok, until I go to connect. I enter all the correct info and the connection stalls out at 'authenticating'.
When I try to connect via windows ( xp media center edition ) I don't see ANY wireless networks. when I right click on the adapter, I don't see any options to connect to a wireless network either.

For the full story, please see this link on the TP Link forum I started.

Anyone out there have any ideas ?

My recommendation is to not use the installed utility that came with the card to manage the wireless networks and let windows do it. You will run into far less problems that way. That could fix your problem.

The other thing I would do is go look online at the manufacturers website for an updated driver for the card you installed.

Tried both of those. If I let windows handle things, it straight up can not find any wireless networks. I can only see the network via the client tool.

I tried updating the drivers and that just made things worse. Neither windows or the client could find any networks.
