Yay! The trailer is taking shape. Are you welding together the metal for the sides? I always thought it would be cool to learn that skill. |

Hi John, that trailer is sweeeet! Nice job skinning it. It is coming along nicely. Can I ask what specs you used for your aluminum, and where you got it from? I'll be skinning my camper trailer in Aluminum too at some point, but it is always good to have a comparison. I am looking at 0.04 inch thick aluminum sheeting, which will go over a plywood exterior. I'm guessing your aluminum sheeting is thicker? |

I'm guessing your aluminum sheeting is thicker? Thanks Lauren, We used 16 gauge smooth aluminum . So that would be .0508". what you have speced is 18 gauge. Note that diamond plate of the same gauge is thicker where the diamonds are so it is a little stiffer and more expensive. The metal was sourced from a local supplier Maryland Metals. |

Picked up some 5w flush mount LED's from the nice folks at Havoc Off-road. These will be back up/ work lights on the trailer. (IP68 warranted by Havoc) (Update:) The lights were just too nice. I treated the Jeep to them. I'll find another set for the trailer! |

That's a fantastic looking trailer, John! It really turned out well. Now that you have it, what do you think you will use it for the most? Camping? Overlanding? Hauling tools & equipment? |

Hauling tools & equipment? Hopefully all of the above! Looking forward to going to more Jeep events and being able to set up camp quick and be comfortable. And there's a reason it's called the Part's Snatcher! Lol And just a friendly warning - this trailer thing can become as addicting as the Jeep. I'm already thinking of upgrades and I don't have it home yet,. |
