Has anyone ever had experience repairing rusted fuel lines?

I have a 2005 Chev Impala that needs a couple fuel lines fixed. The leak is on a return line at a quick connector that changes to nylon hose then goes to the tank. Not exactly sure about the best way to make the repair though. Cut out the bad steel part and replace with nylon hose? Splice in new steel line?

This guys issue seems similar to what I have though I'm not sure how good of a repair it is. Also thinking about dropping the tank to replace the nylon line as the connector has an o-ring that may be bad.

Just did this on my '02 Chevy Astro. I bought a replacement rear fuel line set; it came with the hard line from the filter back along with a replacement flex line, and the return line from the union back and the flex line (union is in the same area as the filter).

I got the set on eBay.
