Hey Everyone,
We are going to do another Mojave Road run and Campout on April 18-20. We will meet at the gas station at the Avi Resort in Laughlin at 900 am on Friday the 18th. You need to bring camping gear, 5 gallons of extra fuel, enough food and water for the weekend, and a capable vehicle. This road is mostly easy and a stock 4x4 could make it no problem. Everyone should try to bring a bundle of firewood also. The wether should be warn during the day and little cool at night, so make sure you bring jackets and or sweatshirts. We will be camping two nights on the trail. On night one we are not sure of the campsite yet but we will figure it out and post coordinates so if anyone wants to meet up with us on Friday night they will be able to find us. On night two we will be camping in the vicinity of the Lava Tubes. There is one caveat in this, if it rains within a few days before or during the run we will by pass crossing Soda Lake and we will exit in Baker, sometime on Sunday morning. You do not want to try to cross the Lake Bed if its wet, you will get stuck and its not an easy extraction.

Some of us are going to be heading out to Laughlin on Thursday afternoon/evening. We will be staying at the Pioneer Hotel because they are pet friendly. Room rates are $19.99 per night plus tax. The Pioneer is about 10 miles from the Avi Hotel. The other Hotel option is the Avi Hotel and Casino. The room rate there is $39.99 plus tax, but you will already be at the meeting spot for the run. I will post the links for both places below.

For the 5 gallons of extra fuel. I will be taking my Adventure Trailer which can hold 20 gallons of fuel. I will only need 5 gallons. If anyone wants to purchase 5 gallons out of the 15 I have left let me know. I can haul it for you until you need it.

Well thats it, hope alot of you can make this trip it is very fun, with a lot of scenery and historic significance. Please post if you think or are going to make it.
thanks

Ok Everyone,
We have the camping spots picked out for night one and two on the Mojave Road. For night one we will be staying at the Black Canyon Group Camp, we reserved it for one night. For those of you coming in Friday night you can find us there. We should get there late in the afternoon of the 18th. The best way to get there would be off of the 40 and Essex Road. Here is the address you can use to google it."Black Canyon Group and Equestrian Campground, Baker, CA 92364" For night two we will be staying in the Lava tubes area. We should arrive there pretty early so we might have a lot of daylight left to explore or just hangout at camp. We will be using 2 meter radios, and if you have one we will be on Simplex 145.535. Also, my cell phone number is 323-833-5890 but service is spotty in those areas. Hope to see a lot of you out there, its going to be a lot of fun.

Looks like fun. But that is about a 6 hour drive in my new toy to get there. I am in the Pasadena area. Is the starting and ending spot the same? If not how far apart?
