how deep are your pockets???
lets see replace motor with Hemi and then all computer/wiring etc, new tranny, new front and rear diffs to handle the power, new suspension, whole new exhaust system , wheels / tires
labor of course ......
32000/35,000 should take care of it

when are you starting

its not like the old days when you had three wires to make one run, and a ton of room in the engine bay, a real frame to weld motor mounts to

Nope. Never thought of it.

Anyways, if you had a second car (this wouldnt be a 3 hour project), I would say go for it. But, as stated, the 4.7 would be much easier.

Oh, and post mucho pictures!!

What does the 4.7 come in now. And also what about the 4.0 from a 01 TJ its a straight 6. My Girl has one and it seems like a way strong motored then my 3.7.

I just found this. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Jeep_Liber ... ngine_Swap

The 4.0 I-6 will never fit in a KJ,to long, forget the HEMI also unless you want a trailer queen.

Since you have a '03 KJ you'd be better off finding a '99-'03 wrecked(rear end wreck) Grand Cherokee with a 4.7 and about the same options your KJ has.You will need alot of the Grands small parts(wiring harnesses,PCM,and such) which will save you big time, and it is pre-can buss.Rebuild the 4.7 and be done.Oh and check to see if you have the 45RFE trans or the 42RLE trans since you will need the 45RFE behind the 4.7.

You want some #'s,call Dan at Burnsville Offroad,he's the Jeep motor swap god and can make it all work, look factory, and be able to be serviced at a dealership with no problems. You also might want to check your local law enforcement/DOT about engine swaps, most states it's illegal, some you have to have it inspected and pass smog(for the model/year of the engine).
