Howdy,

Has anyone installed a 05 or later transmission skid plate on a 04 KJ? Does anyone have any pictures of the install or perhaps a step by step how to?

yes..i have an 04 liberty.. and the skid i bought is for an 05 and didnt fit lol. it was difficult but mopar discontinued the skid for 04 and below..sucks... but ill show u pictures one of the bolts isnt in..theres only 3 bolts holding it on because on my jeep where the other bolt is suppose to go there are no threads!.. so yea... its on my cardomain on the second or 3rd page i believe.

Thanks for the reply.

The pictures are of the front skid plate, not the transmission skid plate. The transmission skid plate installs between the front skid plate and the transfer case skid plate. It is long an rectangular, at least judging from the pictures I've seen online. Have you installed this skid plate as well?

Hi Rob,

I think you are looking for this:

This is how the Transmition Skid plate looks New ( minus the Yellow Powder coating):

For extra security and to fix it proparly I added a front plate so that you can bolt it on safely in case you knock it:

This is where you need to drill extra hole to attach to rear crossmember.
