ok as the title states the parking / e-brake backing plate broke loose completely from the pop rivets on the axle... only on the drivers side. whats the best way to fix, weld it, pop rivet it back on or what? its a 06 sport with 112k 3.7L
and has any one else experienced this problem?

Mine broken on the passenger's side, and has been for a while. To fix it, you will have to pull the axle shaft out, which won't be much fun at all. I plan to take the whole axle assembly out and have a diff shop fix it for me by drilling and tapping the rivet holes for a larger threaded bolt. Go ahead and do the other side. Might as well have an LSD installed while they've got it all apart.

Haven't done mine yet, it's just what I plan to do. I've got to rebuild the front end first.
