Conflicting info on correct mileage to change the cambelt on my 04 KJ. Some say 60 000mls and some 100.000mls. Can someone confirm which is correct please.

Howdy superdec Welcome to LOST

Tech generally isn't a good place to post questions - it's more for answers after the questions have been solved.
the main question sections for V6's is 'General' and for CRD's 'CRD....Love that Torque'

but I have a question for you - is the 04 Gas or Diesel?
if it's gas - there's no timing belt - it's a chain and it's lifetime
I suspect it's a Diesel - and that you're not in the US (we didn't have 04 Diesel's)
most of the European /Oz folks have said their owners manuals call for a 100K Kilometer change which is 60K miles, the US owners manuals say 100K Miles not kilometers.
however many of the Euro/Oz folks in 04 have the 2.5L - so that many be the difference, we only had 2.8L in 05/06

also for Diesels - the Noob thread has a lot of good information (some of it's helpful for v6 owners - but it's focused on CRD's)

Thanks for your help Avatar, sorry to post question in wrong section will look more closely in future. You were correct my KJ is a 2.8 Diesel. My KJ came without a bookpack and on purchase I was told it was a chain so it looks like i am in for an hefty bill to change belt as she has covered 76 000 miles.
Thanks again Regards Superdec/
