Most of us can identify dozens of things that we don't like about the KL compared to the KJ/KK, however, I'm trying to keep this thread positive. Here's the official link to the new Liberty replacement:

http://www.jeep.com/en/2014/cherokee/#m ... cherry_red

What do you like better about the Cherokee vs. the Liberty?

1. I like that the fuel mileage has increased.
2. I like the extra storage that is under the rear floor cargo area.
3. I like that the backseat is 2.2" inches larger than the Liberty.
4. I like the hidden seat storage.
5. I like that the Cherokee has the Trailhawk package for those who want a factory rear locker, 56:1 crawl ratio, skid plates, 20-inch water fording capability, and off-road suspension with one-inch factory lift.
6. I like all the safety features the new KL has compared to the Liberty.

I'll have hopefully nicer things to say about it when I get to test drive one. I'm curious about the new transmission. It's also pretty cool to get a factory lift kit.

I like the trail hawk package but that's about it.

I did build your own and it would tow more than my KK.
Still don't know if it would fit my needs, not that I can buy anything anyway.

I like everything about it. I've read some pretty good reviews on it.

Waiting for them to show up on dealer lots so I can take a closer look and a test drive.
The Cherokee is built on the Dodge Dart platform which is my current vehicle. I love my Dart, so I expect
good things in the Cherokee.

Now I just have to come up with the $$ for a Trailhawk.

Awesome to hear from a Dart owner! If the Dart is great, the Cherokee must be decent, especially once you get used to the new styling as with any other new vehicle.

As for styling, the Cherokee favors the AMC Eagle. For those who are looking for a utilitarian style of vehicle, the Cherokee isn't going to do much for them. The Cherokee, like the AMC Eagle, will be a nice car-like/SUV crossover and will appeal to the audience who is in need of efficiency.

For the most part I like it I am not a big fan of the raked grill into the hood but would have to see one in person one of the local dealers placed an order for 4 or 5 I should be getting a call when they are on the lot sometime in the next few weeks or so

I like the wheel choices! (Especially on the Trailhawk)

I sometimes regret buying a Liberty instead of a Cherokee. There are so many more accessories available for the Cherokee, it has solid axles, then inline six and a greater towing capacity.
But the Liberty is unique, one of a kind. Often I'm the only Liberty on the trail. And its shorter than the Cherokee.

I find it so funny :ROTFL: when XJ owners are slamming the New Cherokee.
I still have the magazines from back in the day when the XJ came out and man did it ever get slammed hard. Just not for the sqaure headlights, but the overall construction/shape/ will never be able to lift it enough and the fenderwells are too small and the list went on and on.
Now its like a Vehicle God or something when people discuss the XJ. I've had 3 just because there was noting out there at the time in the Jeep lineup that fit my needs better. Today lots more choices and better choices. Personally I will never own another XJ since they are an antiquated body design/ engine etc.
So those who are slamming the New Cherokee now will more than likely think back one day and say guess I was wrong and this thing rocks !

I still don't like the rear of it but the rest of it does appeal to me. Bigger tires and more lift will happen eventually with it I think. I'd love to drive one for a day.

I haven't been following the Jeep news closely. What engine do the 2014 Cherokee's have? The same V6 as the JK?
