Well, it's official, I can't go. Now they're telling me that my aluminum diff case isn't strong enough for a Trutrac.

You really don't need a locker to do Windrock. Dgeist did it totally stock (albeit in a CRD KJ). Can you hold off on the locker and run with us? Also, if I'm not mistaken, there are folks on LOST that have had success with a DTT in a stock housing.

There are more than a few with DTT's up front. Having a locker isn't the issue, I thought I was ready to go when they replaced the gears. The pinion bearing is moving according to the company doing the work. I think the pinion wasn't installed properly myself. This'll be the third set of gears in the front, the second was put in the rear last year for the same reason. At least their standing by their work but they refuse to put new gears in with the trutrac, they wanted to return it to an open diff but I really didn't want that.
I'm afraid that my diff will explode on the trail or I'd go anyway. You should hear it, there's even a bad vibration like a tire out of balance, it's ugly.

Bummer. Another example of how life gets in the way of living. Good luck with all of that.

Ted, if you can still make it down, I'm sure there are more than enough spare seats to have you shotgun for the weekend (with some driving from kind generous souls as well). I did it last year when my KJ was in the shop and still had a great time. Lots of spotting time for me

Took the liberty (no pun intended) to update the list after Jamies' post.

1) John Blackwell +2, (hotel)
2) Ted15
3) HoosierJeeper +1 (hotel)
4) dgeist (camping, but not right next to the bath-house like last year).
5) blackwidowkj06 +1 (fiance will be driving his JKU and we will be bringing the pop-up camper)
6) Cobalt-60 +1 (hotel, but BIG maybe [finances are pretty tight right now])

p.s

Colin, I sure hope you can make it and your lady will come with you.

Dan, let me know if you don't need the campsite at least seven days before the 10th as there is no refund after that.
